CLARA DUNCAN HAUK»ERA Btont? sh« loved and it swiftly Scat to Medford z z . t ' t ; I BECAUSE: Present court house in Jacksonville built 43 years ago for a population of less than 8200 can now accommodate b it six county offices out of a total of fourteen. County is now providfog quarters and paying rent tor six county offices in Medford. THERE ARE MO VAULTS OP SUPPIOIENT SIZE TO PROVIDE STORAGE AMD PRO TECTION PROM PIRE POR ALL COUNTY RECORDS IN PRESENT COURT HOUSE. PROOP OP flT L E TO OUR PROPERTY DEPENDS ON THE SAPETY OP THESE RE CORDS AT ALL TIMES. The present court house, with wood interior is a fire trap that would quickly burn, as in sufficient, water supply and fire protection at Jacksonville could never eave it,- • It would-ooet more to rebuild this old building, fireproof it and add to it at Jacksonville than it would to build an entirely new building. A building will be built if county seat is not removed to Medford. 1 • • , • .A vJ| .7? • There a n no banks at Jacksonville; the last one th en cost the taxpayers of the county ever 1 1 » ,WA County officials must take, the risk of holdups in transporting money to banks five miles away. IT 008TB THE CITIZENS OP JACKSON COUNTY ABOUT MO,000 PER YEAR EXTRA TO HAVE THE COUNTY SEAT AT JACKSONVILLE INSTEAD OP MEDPORD DUE TO 10 MILES EXTRA TRAVEL POR ALL. A court house at Jacksonville will not serve SO per cant ef the population living along the Pacific Highway and eaot of it without this extra coat every year. This saving for five years w il build an adequate court hones in Medford A new aonerete building twice the size of the present court house will be built at once by the City-of Medford and used free of cost by the county officers for fhfo yean. ' This new building will be of ample size to accommodate all county officers and it will save the county the rental money that they now pay for outside offices. MODERN PIREPROOP VAULTS WILL BE BUILT IN THE NEW CITY BUILDING SO THAT ALL VALUABLE COUNTY RECORDS CAN BE PLACED THEREIN POR SAPE KEEPING. / Records-of title to our property will then be safe and the fire hazard will be eliminated. A paid full time fire department in Medford will furnish an added w/'eguard and the new million dollar water system now being built will enable them to give full protection to this building. WHEN THE TIME 00M E8 TO BUILD A BOUNTY COURT HOUSE IT WILL COST LESS TO BUILD IT IN MEDPORD THAN IN JACKSONVILLE. Medford's offer to furnish tbs cotinty a building free for ftve yean makes it unnecessary for the county to build now, whereas with the oounty seat remaining in Jacksonville, they PR0M PORD? WHY NOT WAIT A 1 SAYING TO THE 0 0 U AND THIS BUILDING CAN BE BUILT HAVING THE OOUNTY SEAT AT MED- Medford Is the logical place for the oounty seat, as it will more economically serve the en tire population of Jackeen Oounty.
